The Targum of Jonathan ben-Uzziel, on the words “by the hand of Malachi” (1:1), gives the gloss “whose name is called Ezra the scribe.” With equal probability Malachi has been identified with Mordecai, Nehemiah, and Zerubbabel. The Sept., as above noted renders “by Malachi” (Mal 1:1), “by the hand of his angel;” and this translation appears to have given rise to the idea that Malachi, as well as Haggai and John the Baptist, was an angel in human shape (comp.

( Hadith). Saeed bin Jubair and Ikrimah narrated on the authority of Ibn Abbas, who said: A group of Jews came to the Messenger of Allah may Allah bless him and grant him peace: Salam bin Mishkam, Al-Numan bin Awfa, Shas bin Qais, and Malik bin Al-Sif, and they said: How can we follow you when you have abandoned our qiblah and you do not claim that Uzair son Allah? Then Allah Almighty revealed: “And the Jews said, ‘Uzair is son of Allah.’

( Hadith)Abdullah bin Al-Zabari came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said: O Muhammad, do you claim that God has revealed to you that you and what you worship besides God are the portion of Hell? You will enter it. He said: Yes. He said: He worshiped the sun, the moon, the angels, Jesus, and Uzair, so are all of them in Hell with our gods? So it was revealed: “Indeed, those to whom the best of us preceded, those are far from it.” And when the son of Maryam was given as an example, he said, “Adversaries.”

Ibn Asakir narrated, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, that he asked Abdullah bin Salam about the words of God Almighty: And the Jews said, Uzair is the son of God [At-Tawbah: 30]. Why did they say that? So Ibn Salam mentioned to him the Torah that he had written for the Children of Israel, which he had memorized, and what the Children of Israel said: Moses could not bring us the Torah except in a book, and Ezra had brought it to us without a book. A group of them shot him and said: Uzair is the son of God

Mufti Muhammad Rafi’ al-Uthmani said: “Some of our trustworthy elders told me; That is: Our servant, Hajj Amir Shah Khan – may God have mercy on him – went to extremes in examining what the Jews of his time claimed regarding the issue of the filiation(make uzair son of god) of Uzair, peace be upon him, and he worked very hard to investigate it, so every Jew he met disavowed this hideous belief, until he met some of their scholars in Jerusalem and asked him, and he confessed. That there is a small faction among them who claim that Uzair is the son of God, and they exist now, and their number does not exceed one hundred thousand in the world. He said: Then I met some individuals of that group, and I saw them while they were in a state of humiliation and smallness. They are called: Al-Uzayriyah, and one of them is Al-Uzairi, so I asked him, and he acknowledged what I was told. And he said: We believe that Uzair is the son of God without any doubt or hesitation. God is greatly exalted above what they say.

After jesus was crucified….why was there any need to send a new messenger? That is because the Christians or believers of the time (many generations afterwards) were getting astray and some scholars made many changes to the original text revealed to Jesus for their own good…why would Allah send a new messenger I.e Muhammad pbuh? It was so that humanity could be guided again to the right path. This is one of the many many proofs thst Muhammad pbuh was a true messenger of God..ok after we claim that Muhammad pbuh is a true Messenger of God we also come to the fact that the Quran was also an authentic book (which had NOT been changed or altered in any way) and the Quran says that :”Say He is Allah the One and Only.Allah, the eternal, absolute. He does NOT BEGET, NOR IS HE BEGOTTEN. And there is none like Him”(112:1-4)
This verse CLEARLY states that Allah does NOT have a son OR a daughter and He is free from all relations. Another verse states:” To Him is due the primal origin of the heavens and the earth:how can He have a son when He has no consort?”(6:101) and “…That is Allah, your Lord! There is no god but He, the Creator of all things:then worship Him;…”(6:102)
This clearly states that none can be worshipped except God/Allah Himself. Thus, the christian belief that Jesus is the son of God is wrong and Jews would also be wrong IF the accept Ezra the son of God. Abraham’s words are also quoted in the Quran:”..he said:’O my people! I am indeed free from your giving partners to Allah. For me, I have set my face firmly and truly towards Him who created the heavens and the earth, and never shall I give partners to Allah”. Abraham also says himself that ascribing any relation or partner to Allah is extremely wrong and sinful.
A very important quote is as follows:
“Then will Allah say:’Jesus son of Mary! Recount my favour to you and to your mother. Behold! I strengthened you with the holy spirit,so that you spoke to the people in childhood and in maturity. Behold! I taught you the Book and Wisdom, the Law and the Gospel. And behold! You make out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, by my leave, and you breathe into it and it becomes a bird by my leave, and you heal those born blind, and the lepers, by my leave. And behold! You bring forth the dead by my leave. And behold! I restrained the Children of Israel from you when you showed them the clear signs, and the unbelievers among them said:’This is nothing but evident magic.'”(5:110)
This confirms that Jesus did all this not from his own powers but these were miracles granted to him by God himself by the repetitive use of “by my leave”. Moreover, Jesus was not God as he faced opposition like all the other messengers. If he was God he could have used his powers to wipe them out or forcibly convert them.

Reading through the comments and I dont believe judiasm believes in a son of god, however christians have strayed away from being an abrahamic religion when they made jesus(pbuh) a god, the holy trinity essentially makes a man lord and they worhip his idol on a cross. Abraham (pbuh) destroyed all idols to prove the one lord and not 3.

In fact this is what all our prophets did, they tried to get rid of idolotry from the world. In the comments there is mention about jesus (pbuh) to be the last messenger but he wasnt and it is mentioned in the bible that another will be sent and this was good news.

Judiasm, Christianity and Islam all have one purpose which is to worship the one lord of heaven. Heaven, Hell, Angels, satan and Judgement Day is all the same, however the texts were updated based on the actions of the previous nation. The Quran was sent because the gospel was not being followed (the holy book of Jesus (pbuh) not the bible).

One thing people need to understand about and merciful and just god is that he will judge you on your actions and not of our prophets which includes the “original sin”. It is also stated that jesus will return to defend his honour (he never said he was god) like he defended his mother’s honor as a newborn baby.

Abraham earned the title as “god’s friend”, solomon had the power to talk to animals, Jesus could heal people. They were chosen men and prophets not gods. Thats what the romans and greeks turned them into. We live in a world of deception, where world is being prepared for the arrival of the “antichrist” or “Dajjal”, please dont fall into the traps being deployed. The devil has been given the material world, we are working hard for life after dwath

The Qoran represents the belief of Jews in a “son of God” as:
1-Equivalent to the Christian belief of Jesus being “son of God”.
2-As a mainstream Jew belief. (The Jews said: Ezra is the “son of God” and Christians said: “Jesus is Son of God).
Of course both claims are not correct. The interesting point is: the context puts this tenet as a mainstream Jewish belief, while Muslim scholars elude this fact by interpreting it as a narrow belief of some minor Jewish sect.
If you dig further, and take the circumstances surrounding the revelation of this verse in the Qoran:
It happened in the last 2 years of Mohammed’s life, after he conquered Mecca and most of Arabia, and started to lay the foundations of Islamic conquest by assembling the biggest army he ever commanded of 30000 soldiers, than marched on Tabook (a little east of the Jordan river).
This verse of Uzair Sura 9:30 is directly after the final universal declaration of war of Mohammad on “Ahlul kitab – people of the book”, Sura 9:29 ” Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture – [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.”.. Than verse 9:30 proceeds with the main reason to fight all Jews along all Christian: They say Uzair is son of God. The set up of the verse denies Muslim scholars the luxury of assuming the presence of some minor Jewish sect. Briefly: They are lying.

After God created the world, he never intervened in pro-creation.

Except in the case of Jesus Christ who existence in human form was a direct intervention by GOD.

We Christians don’t believe the limited finite human, Jesus Christ is GOD.

We believe that GOD came to earth in Physical Human Form to save mankind.

When Human GOD Jesus left the earth, GOD came back in Spiritual Form (Holy Spirit)and will remain with us till Judgement Day.

The Spiritual God will continue to guide us from within us as long as we are willing to listen to his voice – The Consciousness of Truth.

Its like God has one hand as human Jesus Christ, one hand as the Holy Spirit and then the GOD HEAD Father. All is part of the UNITY GOD. Anything other than these are creations of the creator.

Since Jesus followed by the Holy Spirit, there is no need for intermediaries like prophets or messengers or new scriptures from GOD to teach or guide us.

God lives on earth through his believers. They are his witnesses.

To know the truth, ask yourselves?

1) Does the Forgiving God that allowed Satan till the end of time to repent, want any of his followers to kill others in the name of religion or GOD?

2) Can any scripture of the Almighty God be manipulated or destroyed by his own creation? Why would he allow it?

3) Would GOD sent down different scriptures every other period? Would GOD practice “abrogation” for the sake of it?

4) Would GOD accept discrimination and aggression between his creation by virtue of his teachings?

GOD has till today not destroyed Satan who betrayed and disobeyed HIM. Why would He then cause to destroy mankind for their sins.

GOD has given all souls till the end of time to repent? He will not punish anyone until and after Judgement Day. That is his promise.

Nobody has any right to Judge or Punish anyone for not obeying GOD’s Law. Only God has the right and is entitled to do that.

I think Judaism,Christianity and Islam all these religions are actually belongs to the most pious and most respected prophet Abraham.. in my view, in all these religions many practices are still good and able to accept in this world that s’ why these religions are still alive in this world.. actually i really like all Abrahamic religions… i m a Muslim but really like Judaism and Christianity .. i read bible and Torah… I love all these books because every book have its own worth and story which increase the beauty of these books which are sent by Allah(God). I really like the practices of all these religions because many things are usually common in these religions. it increases the beauty of all these religions… i love the names of all prophets , all the books and really want to respect these religions in more better way ..
I really want it that we should respect each other. respect the religions of each other because our prophets told us … world beauty is still only by Abrahamic religions, because God also love his creature. I don’t know who is right or who is wrong but i just know that “LOVE IS AN ESSENCE OF ALL RELIGIONS”

Yes Judeans did say or mention a fable that Uzayr was a son of god. Quran also mentions it was a claim uttered from their lips repeating the ancient legends of some ancestors. Thus no written text would be necessary although Uzayr was the name applied to variations of Judean names as AZARIAH or a shorthand version EZRA or Latin ESDRAS. Indeed Azariah is called Son of god in Daniel 3:25. Also Some of us Hebrew Yemenites desist Ezra the scribe also for not only a curse but rearranging false genealogies and manipulating the Zaddikim among the House of Amram and removing names like Ahimaaz!
